Field Trip Report for Saturday, January 22, 2005 (Temple Fork Cross Country Skiing)

We experienced our highest decibel level field trip as 11 of us headed up Temple Fork on snowshoes and skis over a very crunchy snow crust. It was a sparkling, warm and sunny day above the frigid inversion. Along the trail, we saw sign of moose browsing and bedding. The beavers are no longer resident in the lower reaches of Temple Fork Creek due to unregulated hobbyist trapping. But we saw lots of Bonneville cutthroat trout still enjoying the benefit of the beaver-created ponds.
